Summer Insect Control

Summer and fall are usually when insects are at their worst. There are a number of products to solve these insect problems for you. Insect damage can weaken plants and during the hot summer months this can be a deadly combination for certain plants. Dr. Garden recommends these insect control products that can make this a more enjoyable summer around the house for you and your plants!
Saf-T-Side™ is a horticultural oil used alone or can be mixed with other insecticides. It is excellent to use in environmentally sensitive areas where children or animals frequent. The insects must be physically sprayed to control them since the product suffocates them. It is not poisonous to vegetables, flowers, fruit trees, citrus, etc. Safe to use year round!
SLUGGO® can help you clean up late season snails and slugs! This environmentally-friendly product is made from ferric phosphate, a naturally occurring material. It comes in a mini pellet like some other baits. The biggest advantage to SLUGGO® is that it provides an effective alternative to traditional snail and slug baits. SLUGGO® can be used around domestic animals and wildlife.
Bug Buster is a synthetic pyrethroid that gives excellent knock down and residual control of numerous insects around the outside of the house. Spiders, such as daddy longlegs or black widows are easily controlled with this product. It is also effective on other insects such as ants, crickets, grasshoppers, wasps, etc. It is one of the best products you can buy for insect control outdoors.
