Many times a homeowner has an insect problem in his trees, and has no way of taking care of it. The trees are either too big to spray, or in an area where it's impossible to spray. Now Pointer is the answer. Pointer is the newest thing in homeowner insect control technology. Many commercial arborists control insects by tree injection . . . . now Pointer can be easily used at home yourself!
The active ingredient of Pointer is Imidacloprid, which is a new product introduced to the market as a homeowner insecticide. Pointer is a systemic product that is injected into the tree to give season-long control of aphids, Japanese beetle, scale, mealy bugs, physllids, borers, adelgids, and many other pests. Just follow the directions as outlined in the illustrations.
Pointer should be used when the tree is actively growing, not during while it's dormant. Do not use on trees that produce an edible crop. The usage on conifers is somewhat erratic, due to the amount of pitch in the tree system. Place one injector every 4"-6" along the tree circumference, about 4 feet above the ground level. On small trees (less than 3"), use 1-2 injectors. Pointer comes in packets of 12 injector ampules, so one packet will do a fairly large tree. This year give Pointer a try instead of having a mess under trees that are infected with aphids or other insects.
