What is Crab-E-Rad Plus?
It‘s a 3-way combination herbicide made up of 6.557% 2,4-DMA, 4.085% Quinclorac, and .681% Dicamba Acid. It is used as a post-emergent herbicide to control crabgrass and other broadleaf weeds in lawn & turf areas, without harming the lawn.
When can I use Crab-E-Rad Plus?
Apply after weeds have germinated and are already growing.
At what rate do I use Crab-E-Rad Plus?
It is applied at 6.4 oz per 4 gallons of water to cover 1000 sq ft. One quart will treat 5000 sq ft.
What weeds will Crab-E-Rad Plus control?
Crabgrass, barnyardgrass (watergrass), foxtails, signalgrass, and over 100 other broadleaf weeds.
When will I see results?
Results will be seen in a few days, and weeds will gradually die. A repeat application may be required in 3-4 weeks.
When should I mow?
Do not mow for 2 days before, or 2 days after, an application.
What about rainfall or irrigation?
Do not water or irrigate for 24 hours after application. If rainfall does not occur for 2-7 days after application, irrigate with at least ½ inch of water
What about newly planted turf?
On newly seeded turf, do not apply until after the 3rd mowing. Delay application for 3-4 weeks after sodding, sprigging, or plugging.
Can I use Crab-E-Rad Plus on all grasses?
No, do not use on bahiagrass, bentgrass, buffalograss, carpetgrass, dichondra, centipedegrass, or st. augustinegrass. Some injury may be seen in the form of yellowing on bermudagrass & zoysiagrass, but it will quickly outgrow it. Do not use on turf grass that contains desirable clovers.
What other precautions should be followed?
Crab-E-Rad Plus is toxic to fish, so don’t use near aquatic areas. Avoid drift. Do not use on ornamentals. Avoid contact with exposed roots of trees. Do not apply when temperature is over 90°F (apply in morning or evening when these temperatures occur). Do not use treated lawn clippings as mulch in the flowerbed. Make no more than 2 applications per year. Keep pets & children off the treated area until the spray has dried.
