What is Monterey Once A Year Insect Control II?
This is a systemic insecticide containing the active ingredient imidacloprid. Once applied to the soil it is absorbed by the roots and moves up into the tree or shrubs, killing the insects that feed on the leaves or branches.

All outdoor trees and shrubs. It can also be used on the following fruit and nut trees, apples, crabapples, pecan, loquat, mayhew, quince, ornamental pear, and pears.

The common ones are adelgids, leaf beetles, leaf hoppers (including the Emerald Ash borer) leafminers, mealybugs, pine tip moth, Japanese beetles, scales, thrips, white flies and many others.
How do I use Monterey Once A Year Insect Control II?
Use as a soil drench. Mix the desired amount in a bucket or water can and apply beneath the tree or shrub around the root systems. Refill the bucket to clean it and pour this also around the roots. This can be done any time of year.
What rate do I use?
Check the label, generally for trees its 1oz per inch of tree circumference (the distance around the tree) measured at chest height and for shrubs it’s 3 oz. per foot of height.
What precaution should I follow?
Do not use on soils that are frozen, waterlogged or saturated. Do not use near lakes, streams, rivers or ponds. Application to trees or shrubs heavily infested may not prevent their eventual loss due to existing pest damage and tree trees.
